Actuarial Consultant - Property & Casualty

About the role

Oliver Wyman's Property and Casualty Consulting Practice assists insurers, self-insured corporations, government entities and other organisations in managing property and casualty risk. As a consultant in the P&C Actuarial Practice, you will develop, validate and operationalise actuarial models and methodologies, working with technologies such as AI on pricing, reserving and capital modelling projects.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse large datasets to inform strategic decisions
• Advise on actuarial methodologies and ensure outputs comply with governance frameworks
• Work with clients and senior stakeholders to turn complex findings into actionable recommendations
• Collaborate with engineering teams to translate actuarial specifications into technical requirements and validate outcomes
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and internal best practices, validating data, model outputs and assumptions
• Contribute to improving tools, processes and methodologies

Required profile

• BA/BS in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Finance or a related field
• 3+ years of actuarial experience
• Commitment to pursuing CAS actuarial credentials with at least 3 passed exams
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
• Strong problem-solving ability and organisational skills to meet tight deadlines

Required skills

• Advanced Excel for data analysis and reporting
• Preferred: Python, R, SQL and experience using AI for modelling and analytics
