P&C Actuarial Manager

About the role

Oliver Wyman is looking for a P&C Actuarial Manager to join its Property & Casualty Actuarial Consulting Practice in Mexico City. The manager works closely with consultants and analysts to independently analyse complex problems and deliver workable solutions for clients such as large corporations, captive insurers, state regulators and P&C insurers. The role involves significant interaction with Oliver Wyman's diverse client portfolios.

Key responsibilities

• Focus primarily on loss reserving, with additional projects in pricing/ratemaking, predictive modelling, economic capital modelling and warranty and loyalty rewards programmes
• Manage new projects and take over existing ones with minimal principal involvement, acting as the day-to-day project point person and handling client communications
• Review analyst work to ensure technical accuracy and integrity across analyses, templates and exhibits
• Support the training, development and mentoring of analysts on project teams
• Prepare exhibits and written reports for clients and attend client meetings as required
• Build business-development relationships, including helping prepare proposals and presentations for prospective clients

Required profile

• BA/BS degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Finance or a related field
• 8+ years of actuarial experience in the property & casualty industry, with a preference for prior actuarial consulting experience
• Near or already obtained ACAS/FCAS credentials
• Strong organisational, analytical and interpersonal skills, able to work in a fast-paced environment with little guidance

Required skills

• Strong command of Microsoft Office, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
• R, SAS, SQL or VBA experience is a plus
