Back-End Software Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a back‑end software engineer to help build a greenfield enterprise platform for a leading nonprofit fundraising services organization. The role operates in a fast‑moving, AI‑accelerated environment where engineers use AI agents as a productivity boost while retaining full technical ownership.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy scalable back‑end services and APIs for an enterprise order‑management platform.
• Make independent technology decisions and clearly articulate architecture, database, authentication, and optimization choices.
• Leverage AI coding agents (e.g., Claude, Copilot, Cursor) to accelerate development while supervising and validating their output.
• Build and maintain integrations with enterprise systems, including those with limited or non‑standard APIs.
• Create and manage end‑to‑end CI/CD pipelines and own the deployment process.
• Collaborate on cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred; Azure and Google Cloud also considered).
• Work autonomously, identify problems, devise solutions, and communicate blockers proactively.

Required profile

• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Recent, hands‑on TypeScript experience.
• Experience designing and implementing enterprise‑scale back‑end systems.
• Proven CI/CD pipeline implementation (GitHub Actions, AWS CodePipeline, or similar).
• Cloud platform experience, preferably AWS.
• Demonstrated use of AI agents in active development workflows.
• Background integrating systems with limited or no native APIs.
• Experience in nonprofit, fundraising, or order‑management domains is a plus.
