Backend Developer – Remote, $70/hr

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Backend Developer to design, build, and maintain high‑performance backend services and APIs. This contract, part‑time position is fully remote, offering flexibility while working on critical infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to translate business needs into technical specifications.
• Optimize systems for reliability, security, and efficiency.
• Write clean, well‑documented, and thoroughly tested code.
• Participate in code reviews, mentoring, and knowledge‑sharing sessions.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues.

Required profile

• Proven expertise in backend development using modern languages.
• Extensive experience designing RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Strong proficiency with relational and NoSQL databases and data modeling.
• Deep understanding of system security, authentication, and authorization.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
