Business Development Manager – Petrochemicals & Energy

About the role

ICIS, the market intelligence business of RELX, is looking for a Business Development Manager to join its sales team in Mexico City. The role focuses on petrochemical, energy and commodity markets, driving new business growth across Latin America and delivering value‑based intelligence solutions to customers.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and pursue new business opportunities for ICIS market intelligence solutions in petrochemicals, energy and commodities.
• Generate leads through cold calling, outbound sales activities and consultative selling techniques.
• Qualify prospects, engage C‑suite decision‑makers and uncover business challenges to propose tailored solutions.
• Build and maintain a high‑quality pipeline, progressing leads into revenue‑generating accounts.
• Maintain high‑volume engagement via phone, email, social media and face‑to‑face meetings.
• Lead customer acquisition across target industries and accounts in the region.
• Partner with Account Managers and collaborate with local and global business functions to support cross‑sell initiatives.
• Apply a structured sales methodology, demonstrating curiosity, active listening and strong discovery skills.
