Classification & Export Licensing Analyst

About the role

Jabil is hiring a Classification & Export Licensing Analyst in Guadalajara. The role provides direct product classification and global trade regulatory compliance support to business unit managers for electronic systems, products, assemblies and services worldwide, working as an individual contributor and as part of a global team. It also requires compliance with U.S. Department of State and Commerce regulations, other U.S. government agencies and other countries' trade policies.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with preparing, submitting and reporting on license applications, binding rulings, BTIs, CCATs, commodity jurisdictions and related communications.
• Support the Trade Compliance team with trade compliance audits, reporting and regulatory responsibilities.
• Support deemed export screening and review, resolution or escalation of sanctioned party list matches.
• Support multi-national classification, tax and duty implications, and provide pre-shipment and customs clearance support.
• Enter HTS-US, ECCNs and other import/export data into SAP or an offline Excel database under the Trade Compliance Manager.
• Research part and product technical characteristics using SAP, customer and vendor websites and other databases to support import/export classifications.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or technical degree; engineering experience desirable.
• 1-3 years of work-related experience in import and export product classification.
• Working knowledge of U.S. Customs Regulations, Export Administration Regulations, Harmonized Tariff Schedule and the Commerce Control List.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and e-mail.
• Advanced PC skills, including Jabil's software packages.
• Ability to read and interpret graphs and to handle standardized situations.
