Materials SME II

About the role

Jabil is looking for a Materials SME II in Guadalajara to drive standard work and continuous improvement in materials processes, systems and talent development. The role acts as a technical expert in one or more materials areas (such as planning, purchasing and inventory control) and as a qualified project leader who works with the operations team to deliver best-in-class service levels, target profitability and differentiated capabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Act as Mega Site or Region Subject Matter Expert in materials processes and systems, and coach, mentor and train the materials team.
• Monitor key materials metrics and perform regular internal audits to keep operations under control.
• Drive standardization, simplification and optimization through a continuous improvement cycle, and develop new best practices with supporting data.
• Lead and evaluate cross-functional projects, defining goals, KPIs, test plans and risk mitigations, and manage cost, schedule, quality and scope.
• Forecast project budget and staffing needs, track progress and communicate with stakeholders.
• Support the Lean organization by building a solid process foundation and data integrity.
• Comply with company security policies; other duties as assigned.

Required profile

• At least 12 years of experience, including 7 years in a materials field.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent; Master's in Supply Chain, Logistics, Procurement or MBA preferred.
• Certifications such as APCIS, Lean Silver, Six Sigma Black Belt or PMP preferred.
• Proven record of change management, continuous improvement and cost reduction.

Required skills

• Knowledge of materials standards, procedures, systems and work methodologies, and of JOS and quality systems.
• Advanced PC skills: Microsoft Office, Microsoft Visio and Microsoft Project.
• Strong verbal and written English, health and safety knowledge, and ability to work under pressure.
