Controlling & Planning Specialist

About the role

HITACHI ENERGY MEXICO, S.A. DE C.V. is looking for a Controlling & Planning Specialist in San Luis Potosi, Mexico. The role plays a central part in financial planning, analysis and performance monitoring, supporting strategic decisions through accurate financial reporting, forecasting and budgeting.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out in-depth financial analysis, including variance analysis, profitability analysis and cost control initiatives, identifying key drivers and trends.
• Lead the preparation and consolidation of financial budgets, forecasts and long-term business plans, working with several departments.
• Develop and maintain financial models to support strategic initiatives, investment decisions and business case evaluations.
• Prepare and present financial reports, dashboards and presentations to senior management, highlighting key performance indicators and actionable insights.
• Monitor actual performance against budget and forecast, explain deviations and recommend corrective actions.
• Support the implementation and improvement of financial planning and reporting systems and tools.
• Ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures and guidelines.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or a related field; a master's degree or professional certification (e.g. CMA, ACCA, CPA) is a plus.
• At least 3-5 years of experience in financial planning and analysis, controlling or a similar finance role, preferably in a large multinational corporation.
• Fluent English, written and spoken.

Required skills

• Strong understanding of financial accounting principles (IFRS/GAAP) and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in financial modeling, data analysis and advanced Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, financial functions).
• ERP systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle) and financial planning software (e.g. Hyperion, Anaplan) are highly desirable.
