Financial Controller – Accounting & Tax Lead (Tijuana)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Financial Controller to lead accounting, tax and financial reporting for our operations in Tijuana. The role combines day‑to‑day accounting management with strategic financial guidance to support the company’s growth in Mexico.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily accounting operations and act as the local accounting subject‑matter expert for management.
• Coordinate with global teams on accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and general ledger maintenance.
• Prepare accurate financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow) in accordance with Mexican accounting standards.
• Ensure compliance with local tax requirements by preparing and filing timely reports.
• Develop and enforce corporate financial policies, procedures and internal controls.
• Liaise with the US corporate finance team to align reporting and compliance.
• Oversee relationships with external auditors and tax authorities, guaranteeing timely filings.
• Identify process‑improvement and cost‑saving opportunities.
• Provide strategic financial advice to local management.
• Mentor and develop direct‑report team members, fostering continuous learning.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
• At least 10 years of experience as a Controller or Accounting Manager in a multinational environment, preferably with exposure to the Mexican market.
• Deep knowledge of Mexican accounting standards, tax regulations and financial reporting requirements.
• Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for cross‑functional collaboration.
• Fluency in English and Spanish, both written and spoken.
• Adaptability to change and a commitment to continuous improvement.
