Forensic Digital Evidence Advisor - Central & South America

About the role

Amentum supports the U.S. Department of Justice's ICITAP and OPDAT programs, which provide training, advisory and mentoring services to host nations. As a global Forensic Digital Evidence Advisor, you will act as a subject matter expert in mobile digital and computer evidentiary analysis. This is an independent contractor position with Amentum, not an employment relationship.

Key responsibilities

• Mentor Spanish-speaking host-country experts on the collection, preservation, triage, examination, analysis and court production of digital evidence.
• Train and advise host-country officials on operating systems, the types of evidence recoverable from phones, computers and other devices, and the use, maintenance and testing of extraction and analysis tools.
• Advise on best practices for digital evidence exploitation, analysis reports and chain of custody records.
• Possibly conduct advanced training on security assessments and link analysis.
• Coordinate with U.S. Government agencies, other governments and international donors providing law enforcement development assistance, and facilitate meetings, working groups, report development, policy review, quality management systems and briefings.

Required profile

• Minimum of 5 years of related digital evidence examination experience.
• Ability to write and speak Spanish professionally.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust US Government clearance.

Required skills

• Experience using a wide variety of extraction and analysis tools.
• Experience training other forensic examiners and first responders.
• Desired: certification in digital evidence, supervision of digital evidence activities, QA/QC inspection and validation experience, ISO 17025 or 17020 accreditation experience, and experience training or advising foreign officials.
