HSE Specialist – Occupational Health Doctor

About the role

ABB is seeking an experienced Occupational Health Doctor to join its HSE team at the Juarez, Nuevo León factory. You will lead health programs, manage medical services for work‑related injuries, and promote employee well‑being while ensuring compliance with Mexican safety regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead occupational health programs: investigate incidents, conduct root‑cause analyses, implement corrective actions and share lessons learned.
• Manage occupational medical services: provide care and follow‑up for work‑related injuries and illnesses, coordinate nursing staff, and administer IMSS cases (ST2, ST7, ST9).
• Promote employee health through preventive campaigns, nutrition, psychological and wellness initiatives.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and risk management by performing psychosocial risk assessments, ergonomic evaluations, and industrial hygiene studies, and implementing preventive measures with cross‑functional teams.
• Monitor and report occupational health performance: track KPIs, measure progress against health and hygiene objectives, and advise management on continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Medical Doctor with at least 3 years of experience, preferably in occupational health or an industrial/manufacturing setting.
• Proven experience coordinating nursing staff, managing occupational health services, and handling medical case management.
• Knowledge of psychosocial risk management, ergonomics, industrial hygiene, occupational safety, and Mexican regulations (NOM‑035, NOM‑036).
• Strong ability to maintain confidential medical records and regulatory documentation.
• Excellent communication, organizational and administrative skills; ability to collaborate across functions.
• Intermediate English proficiency preferred.
