Internal Controls Manager

About the role

The Internal Controls Manager leads compliance, governance, risk management and control activities across three supported markets and manages and develops a team of Internal Controls professionals. The role acts as a trusted business partner, guiding risk and controls with local, regional and global stakeholders, and drives SOX and FCPA compliance, audit support and process simplification.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the SOX and FCPA quarterly certification process across the markets
• Lead and develop the Internal Controls team, with coaching and direction
• Partner with business leaders to identify, assess and mitigate risks
• Evaluate, redesign and optimize controls, moving from manual and detective controls to automated, preventive, data-driven ones
• Leverage AI, automation, data analytics and emerging technologies to improve controls and efficiency
• Coordinate internal and external audits, including walkthroughs, evidence and remediation follow-up
• Oversee remediation plans for control deficiencies and audit findings
• Support the internal monitoring program and guide Segregation of Duties (SOD) conflicts
• Deliver training and communicate risks and remediation progress to leadership and stakeholders

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Auditing or a related field
• 3-5 years of experience in Internal Controls, Internal Audit, External Audit, Risk Management, Compliance or related areas
• Strong people leadership, stakeholder management and communication skills
• Proactive, analytical and solution-oriented, able to handle multiple priorities
• English at B2 level or above; experience with multiple countries or markets preferred

Required skills

• Solid knowledge of SOX, FCPA, COSO, risk management and internal control principles
• Experience with control design, risk assessment, audit support, control testing and remediation
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; Power BI or similar tools desirable
• Knowledge of SAP or other enterprise systems desirable; project management and management reporting experience preferred
• Certifications such as CIA, CPA, CISA, CRMA are a plus
