Accounting Analyst

About the role

Flexport is hiring an Accounting Analyst to join its Finance team in Guadalajara. The role supports the company's growth by recommending and driving new initiatives, building relationships with stakeholders across functional departments, and helping improve accuracy and efficiency in accounting processes.

Key responsibilities

• Record and maintain journal entries to ensure accuracy in the general ledger
• Work with Operations and Accounts Payable teams to ensure data accuracy and monthly accruals
• Contribute to the monthly close by preparing journal entries and reconciliations
• Update and maintain accounting standard operating procedures (SOPs) for assigned areas
• Assist with prepaid schedules and maintain the accuracy of assigned balance sheet accounts
• Assist with lease schedules and support journal entry generation
• Support the Treasury team on payment initiations and processing
• Support variance analysis and comment on P&L movements
• Identify process improvements that streamline month-end closing and reporting, and support automation initiatives

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or above in Accounting, Finance or a related field
• 2+ years of experience in public accounting (preferably Big 4) or in an accounting function with a strong understanding of accounting
• Strong business-level English
• Attention to detail, problem-solving and prioritization skills, with a focus on continuous improvement
• Willingness to embrace and drive change, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills
