Junior Buyer

About the role

The Junior Buyer will support the Altamira site by ensuring timely availability of MRO materials and spare parts. You will negotiate purchase orders and contracts with local and international suppliers while adhering to Americas Procurement standards.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain reliable purchase orders, contracts, CRAFs and OLAS for technical goods, ensuring full policy compliance.
• Oversee consignment processes and manage import operations, including overseas shipments and cross‑border logistics via the Texas–Laredo border.
• Develop and sustain a supplier base selected for quality, on‑time delivery, professionalism, ethical conduct and safety compliance.
• Drive cost efficiency by creating sourcing strategies, meeting annual technical budgets and securing competitive pricing.
• Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance and the storeroom to meet operational needs, optimise inventory levels and improve process efficiency.
• Conduct supplier audits, monitor delivery performance and enforce corrective actions when disruptions occur.
• Manage procurement support systems such as EDICOM and REPSE, and ensure compliance with all quality, safety, environmental and ethical standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., International Business, Supply Chain, Engineering).
