LATAM Attorney – Legal & Compliance

About the role
Valvoline Global Operations is seeking a qualified Attorney to support its legal and compliance activities across Latin America, primarily in Mexico. Reporting to the LATAM Company Lawyer, the role will help drive the legal function, manage corporate and commercial matters, and ensure regulatory compliance as the company expands in the region.
Key responsibilities
- Assist the LATAM Company Lawyer and HR Business Partner with labor‑law compliance, including employment agreements, benefits, union relations and subcontracting issues.
- Support the LATAM Credit team in preparing and executing credit securities such as pagares and real‑property mortgages, including document collection, drafting and coordination of notary services.
- Review and update importation and labeling requirements for the Mexican market, providing guidance to the supply‑chain team.
- Draft, negotiate and maintain agreements with distributors, resellers and other commercial partners, ensuring alignment with business plans and pricing structures.
- Monitor ongoing regulatory changes and advise internal stakeholders on compliance obligations.
Required profile
- Law degree and active license to practice law in Mexico.
- Minimum 3‑5 years of experience in labor, corporate and commercial law, preferably within a multinational environment.
- Proven experience with credit‑security instruments (pagares, mortgages) and import‑regulation compliance.
- Fluent in Spanish and English, both written and spoken.
- Strong analytical and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across functions.
Required skills
- Drafting and reviewing legal contracts and agreements.
- Knowledge of Mexican labor legislation and collective bargaining frameworks.
- Understanding of credit‑security documentation and notarial processes.
- Familiarity with importation, labeling and product‑compliance regulations in Mexico.
