Lead DevOps Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Lead DevOps Engineer to own and evolve a high‑traffic, global scraping platform. Based in Mexico and working in a remote‑first environment, you will guide the design, implementation and optimisation of cloud infrastructure that processes billions of requests daily.

Key responsibilities

• Define and drive the end‑to‑end platform roadmap, identifying architectural gaps and long‑term priorities.
• Consolidate multiple infrastructure stacks into a unified, scalable platform with minimal disruption.
• Design cloud infrastructure for performance, scalability, security and cost efficiency across distributed systems.
• Implement robust monitoring, alerting, logging and disaster‑recovery strategies.
• Lead cost‑optimization initiatives, especially around proxy and compute expenses.
• Strengthen platform security by addressing vulnerabilities and defending against threats.
• Collaborate with engineering teams on system design and support AI‑related development workflows.
• Mentor engineers and raise platform engineering maturity, tooling and processes.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in DevOps, Platform or Infrastructure Engineering at scale.
• Hands‑on expertise with Kubernetes and large‑scale distributed systems.
• Proven experience building infrastructure as code with Terraform and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong knowledge of cloud providers such as DigitalOcean or Hetzner.
• Experience with databases like PostgreSQL, Redis, ClickHouse or MongoDB is a plus.
• Demonstrated focus on operational excellence and observability.
