Legal Counsel – Complaints & Disputes

About the role

The Legal team at Revolut turns complexity into clarity, providing practical advice that enables fast, protected growth. As a Legal Counsel you will manage customer complaints on external dispute resolution platforms and support early‑stage litigation, drafting pre‑action letters and offering day‑to‑day legal guidance to key stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct internal fact‑finding investigations.
• Handle external dispute resolution complaints in line with local laws and regulations.
• Represent Revolut before external dispute resolution forums.
• Manage early‑stage or less complex litigation, including pre‑action letters, claim responses, and case reviews.
• Assist Legal Counsels across EEA branches with ad‑hoc work and advice.
• Identify, analyse, and resolve issues, implementing improvements that have measurable impact.
• Analyse case outcomes to pinpoint weaknesses and remediate them.
• Promote a culture prioritising fair treatment of customers.
• Take ownership of problems, policies, or procedures from inception to resolution.
• Collaborate closely with other departments during investigations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s and master’s degree in law (or equivalent in Hungary).
• Qualified lawyer or registration with the Hungarian Bar Association.
• Minimum 2 years of legal experience as a private‑practice lawyer in financial services.
• Fluency in English with exceptional communication skills.
• Analytical mindset capable of investigating root causes.
• Resourceful with strong research abilities.
• Strategic thinking to select appropriate means of redress (e.g., refunds, negotiations).
• Strong problem‑solving skills using analysis and available resources.
