Maintenance Operator

About the role

ABB is hiring a Maintenance Operator for its Electrification Installation Products business in Guadalupe, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. The role reports to the Production Manager and is onsite. You will support the Maintenance team by adjusting tooling or equipment on the press for model changeovers, repairing faults detected in the machine, carrying out operational testing and operating all types of mechanical tools.

Key responsibilities

• Complete daily work reports and verify the availability of materials, tools and equipment for assigned tasks.
• Monitor work progress and quality, and report machine, tooling or safety equipment issues to the supervisor.
• Repair and maintain molds, dies, inserts and other high-precision tooling, including die setup and adjustments.
• Inspect tools after each operation and carry out basic preventive maintenance on assigned equipment.
• Support production and process teams during the approval, startup, transfer or implementation of new or repaired tools, molds and dies.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organized work area, manage tooling inventory and comply with Quality Management System requirements.
• Take part in continuous improvement, safety, housekeeping, Kaizen and 5S activities, and suggest improvements to equipment, tooling, materials or safety.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or technical degree in Machining and Tooling or a related field.
• One year of professional experience.

Required skills

• Interpretation of blueprints and technical drawings.
• Use of precision measuring instruments.
• Bench fitting and assembly adjustments.
• Press operation and die repair and maintenance.
• Basic electrical knowledge.
• 5S methodology and workplace organization principles.
