Materials Planner

About the role

The Materials Planner ensures uninterrupted manufacturing by managing material requirements, coordinating with suppliers, and maintaining accurate inventory data. This role is critical for minimizing production disruptions and supporting continuous operations.

Key responsibilities

• Process and analyze supplier releases and review material coverage against on‑hand inventory, in‑transit shipments, and production needs.
• Collaborate with Inventory Analysts to resolve discrepancies and perform root‑cause analysis.
• Work closely with Customer Service to communicate supply impacts, demand changes, and resolve issues promptly.
• Identify and communicate risks such as line stoppages, material shortages, and expedited shipments.
• Develop and maintain PFEP (Plan for Every Part) documentation.
• Ensure timely, accurate supplier deliveries and correct ASN information.
• Set up and maintain planning parameters for new part numbers.
• Monitor supplier performance, drive corrective actions, and arrange special transportation when needed.
• Follow up on Discrepant Material Reports (DMRs) and participate in annual physical inventory.
• Support departmental initiatives and other assigned responsibilities.

Required profile

• Strong background in materials planning and supply‑chain management.
• Proficiency in inventory management and control.

• Organizational and time‑management capabilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and proactively manage supply risks.
