Medical Science Liaison – Oncology

About the role

The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) – Oncology is a field‑based scientific professional who will execute the company’s medical affairs strategy for oncology products across their lifecycle. Working closely with Global Medical Affairs and local cross‑functional teams, the MSL will act as a trusted scientific partner to oncologists, hematologists, investigators and other key healthcare stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, map and develop scientific relationships with key oncology KOLs, investigators and cancer centres in the assigned region.
• Conduct high‑quality, non‑promotional scientific exchanges, presenting balanced clinical data, benefits, risks and appropriate product use.
• Gather, analyse and communicate actionable medical insights to inform local and global strategies.
• Support medical education initiatives such as advisory boards, medical education programs and focused group discussions.
• Assist evidence‑generation activities, including investigator‑initiated studies, real‑world evidence projects and company‑sponsored trials.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of disease areas, treatment paradigms, competitive landscape and local guidelines.
• Provide scientific training and accurate medical input to internal teams, ensuring compliance.
• Attend regional oncology congresses and respond to unsolicited medical information requests in a timely, compliant manner.

Required profile

• Advanced degree in Life Sciences or Healthcare (PharmD, M.Pharm, PhD, MSc, MBBS, BDS or equivalent).
• 2–4 years of experience as a Medical Science Liaison, preferably in Oncology.
• Experience engaging with oncology stakeholders within the Australian healthcare system is strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with local regulatory requirements, clinical research processes and medical affairs operations.
