Onsite IT Technician

About the role

The Children's Guild is seeking an Onsite IT Technician to travel between its school locations in the Greater Baltimore/Washington region. You will be the first line of technical support, ensuring educators, staff, and students have reliable technology to succeed.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, and network issues across multiple sites.
• Create and manage IT support tickets, keeping users informed throughout the process.
• Install and configure laptops, Chromebooks, hotspots, and phones.
• Provide hands‑on and remote technical support to staff and students.
• Serve as the onsite point of contact for equipment deployment and management.
• Partner with the central IT team to proactively identify and address emerging issues.
• Train teachers and staff on proper use of devices and educational technology.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED (required); AA, undergraduate degree, or certifications such as A+, Network+, Security+ (preferred).
• Working knowledge of computers, laptops, tablets, smartphones, and common software.
• Strong communication and customer‑service skills.
• Proactive, problem‑solving mindset with ability to see tasks through to completion.
• Ability to multitask, stay flexible, and thrive in a fast‑moving environment.
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license; up to 75% travel between sites.
• Ability to lift up to 20 lb.
