Payroll Specialist

About the role

Trimble is looking for a Payroll Specialist in Mexicali, Mexico, within its Corporate department. The role covers payroll analysis, auditing and processing, acting as a liaison between HR, Benefits, Stock and employees, and managing the payroll helpdesk. Trimble prefers candidates with at least three years of progressive payroll processing experience in US payroll operations.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily payroll department operations and process bi-weekly payrolls for one or two company codes/legal entities.
• Manage workflows so that payroll data transactions are processed accurately and on time through third-party data exchanges.
• Reconcile payroll before transmission and validate confirmed report totals.
• Support the payroll helpdesk by researching and resolving employee and third-party queries.
• Ensure compliance with current regulations and internal policies in support of SOX compliance.
• Collaborate with Human Resources and accounting teams, and process year-end reporting and corrections.
• Prepare reports for management, the finance department and other payroll customers.
• Handle intercompany reconciliations, WFN problem solving and data import.

Required profile

• BS/BA degree or equivalent; 3-5 years of payroll operational experience in a shared service environment.
• Prior experience in ERP applications supporting HR, TimeCapture, Benefits and Payroll across multiple legal entities.
• Solid knowledge of multi-state taxation and multi-entity payroll regulations.
• Current working knowledge of payroll best practices; Canadian payroll experience is a definite plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Familiarity with payroll/HRIS software such as ADP, Kronos and Workday.
• Experience with WFN and importing data.
