Product Design Engineer II – Fittings Engineering

About the role

LIXIL, a global leader in bath and kitchen solutions, is looking for a Product Design Engineer II to join its Fittings Engineering team at the R&D centre in Monterrey, Mexico. You will lead the engineering design and commercialization of new products, working closely with advanced concepts, manufacturing, and marketing to deliver innovative, high‑performance designs.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop new products and improvements using established platforms under the Grohe, American Standard, and DXV brands.
• Ensure designs meet technical specifications, quality standards, regulatory requirements, and project schedules.
• Deliver cost‑effective, robust, and manufacturable solutions that exceed customer expectations.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including Engineering, Project Management, Quality, Manufacturing, and Product Marketing, as well as external supply partners.
• Execute assigned engineering tasks of moderate complexity within larger R&D projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering or a related field.
• 2–3 years of product design and development experience, preferably in plumbing or fluid‑handling environments.
• Ability to work independently on product development using established architectures.

Required skills

• Proficiency with 3‑D CAD software PTC Creo.
• Experience with Product Data Management systems, ideally SAP ECTR.
• Strong working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Application of Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles.
