Product Engineer

About the role

Adient is seeking a Product Engineer to join its Tech Center in Queretaro. The role focuses on creating and validating detailed designs, supporting prototype development, and ensuring high‑quality assemblies for testing and production.

Key responsibilities

• Create layout, detail, and assembly drawings while checking for packaging or interference issues.
• Apply best practices in design engineering, including PDFSS, drawing standards, FEA, GD&T, root‑cause analysis, DVP, DFMEA, hand calculations, and use of carry‑over and CPP technology.
• Execute robust design changes, release design data on time, and support prototype build and assembly.
• Support root‑cause analysis of test failures and flag potential safety concerns.
• Provide test specifications and review setups for product testing within the assigned design area.
• Generate DFMEAs before prototype tooling release and develop technical solutions aligned with cost, performance, timing, weight, and investment goals.
• Technically support suppliers in product development and drawing creation.
• Perform design studies and tolerance stack‑ups to ensure product quality and performance.

Required profile

• Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 2‑3 years of engineering experience.

Required skills

• CAD drawing creation and modification.
• Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
• Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) and Design Validation Plan (DVP).
• Root‑cause analysis and hand calculations.
