Trim Engineer – Entry Level

About the role

Adient is seeking an entry‑level Trim Engineer to join its Tech Center in Queretaro. The role focuses on seat patterning, trim‑cover development and supporting manufacturing processes.

Key responsibilities

• Complete seat patterns and interpret 2D/3D component drawings.
• Apply problem‑solving techniques such as BEP, Kepner‑Tregoe or Six‑Sigma to real‑world issues.
• Operate and maintain seat equipment (NC cutter, sewing machines) used in trim‑cover manufacturing.
• Manage change orders and bill‑of‑materials (BOM) control for trim projects.

Required profile

• Last semester of Engineering, Textiles, Industrial Design or a related technical degree.
• 0‑1 year of job‑related experience (preferred).
• Mid‑level English conversation skills.
• Willingness to work onsite in Queretaro and travel as needed.

Required skills

• Seat patterning.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and trim‑cover requirements.
• Familiarity with NC cutters, sewing machines and safety standards.
• Understanding of material specifications (cloth, leather, vinyl).
• Change management and BOM control.
• Proficiency in developing trim covers from 2D/3D data.
• Basic 3D CAD modeling and vehicle environment awareness.
