About the role
The Regional Group Underwriting Manager for Accident & Health will lead underwriting activities across the region, ensuring loss ratios stay within target and that the portfolio is properly segmented and retained.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain loss ratio at or below agreed levels and conduct portfolio analysis to control product P&Ls.
- Perform regular audits (every 18‑24 months) on underwriting authorities, rating, wordings and documentation, and submit reports to the regional office.
- Oversee product development, reviewing and approving new products or major changes in collaboration with actuarial and legal teams.
- Review and approve large or unusual quotes, and ensure proper training for all staff with underwriting authority.
- Coordinate with Operations, Legal, Claims and Finance to align underwriting activities with company policies.
Required profile
- Proven experience in underwriting, preferably in accident and health insurance.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to monitor loss ratios and portfolio performance.
- Excellent communication and liaison abilities across multiple departments.
