Senior Android Developer

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Android Developer to design, build, and maintain high‑quality native Android applications using Kotlin. The role starts as an individual contributor within the mobile engineering team and offers a path toward cross‑platform development with React Native.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain native Android apps using Kotlin and modern Android architecture components.
• Write clean, testable, maintainable code following MVVM and Clean Architecture principles.
• Collaborate with backend teams to define and consume REST APIs.
• Contribute to the team’s transition to React Native by applying cross‑platform expertise.
• Participate in code reviews, troubleshoot defects, and optimise performance across devices and OS versions.
• Communicate progress, risks, and technical trade‑offs with product managers, designers, and engineering peers.
• Stay up‑to‑date with Android ecosystem trends and provide technical recommendations.
• Mentor junior engineers and support future team leadership.

Required profile

• 9+ years of experience developing native Android applications with deep Kotlin expertise.
• Proven track record owning complex, production‑scale Android apps end‑to‑end.
• Hands‑on experience building and shipping applications with React Native.
• Strong command of MVVM, Clean Architecture, RESTful services, dependency‑injection, and testing practices.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Prior experience mentoring engineers or acting as a technical point of contact.
