Senior Director - Sales

About the role

The Senior Director – Sales leads the strategy, management and profitability of an assigned sales region, market or channel. This role drives revenue growth, oversees field and inside sales teams, and ensures alignment with corporate objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute go‑to‑market strategy for the designated end‑market.
• Create and manage sales plans to achieve quota, customer satisfaction and staff development.
• Forecast sales volume and profit for existing and new product lines.
• Build and expand relationships with national, regional and local suppliers.
• Monitor market trends, supply‑demand dynamics and competitor activity.
• Direct account representatives on quotations, proposals, order management and complaint resolution.
• Recruit, onboard, train and mentor sales staff.
• Provide performance counseling, discipline and appraisal for the sales team.
• Stay current with industry knowledge through workshops and professional publications.
• Report detailed forecasts and results to senior management.

Required profile

• High school diploma required; Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Business Administration, Engineering or related field preferred.
• 10+ years of professional sales experience in the distribution industry.
• 7+ years of experience leading and managing regional or national sales teams.
• Proven ability to develop and implement sales strategies that meet forecasted goals.
• Strong analytical, communication and interpersonal skills.
