Software Engineer

About the role

Fountain is looking for a Software Engineer who loves digging into code, fixing bugs, and improving existing features. You will help large enterprises maximize their use of Fountain’s high‑volume hiring and hourly workforce management platform while collaborating with Support, Customer Success, and Professional Services teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, test, and maintain product features for Fountain’s platform.
• Review code and collaborate with other developers to ensure high quality.
• Guarantee reliability, security, and operational excellence of the product.
• Work closely with product managers throughout the product lifecycle.
• Implement and maintain the technology stack using best practices.
• Become an expert in multiple Fountain products and translate customer needs into features.
• Standardize frequently requested functionality and integrate it into the core application.
• Eliminate repeat issues through automation, tooling, or upstream fixes.

Required profile

• 2+ years of experience with a JavaScript framework (React, TypeScript, Node) OR Ruby on Rails (including Sidekiq).
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve production software issues.
• Customer empathy, strong attention to detail, and product‑oriented development mindset.
• Ability to work independently in a dynamic, globally distributed environment.
