Systems Engineer I

About the role

Jabil is hiring a Systems Engineer I in Chihuahua. The role covers coordination and installation of IT servers, design, build, optimization and maintenance of servers, and monitoring of network infrastructure. It also involves 24x7 on-call support and working with vendors and service providers.

Key responsibilities

• Design, optimize and maintain servers so that operational uptimes are met or exceeded, and monitor system uptime
• Document failures and corrective actions, and recommend system standards, processes and long-term solutions
• Prepare project plans and schedules, give status updates and recommend or conduct training
• Act as escalation point for troubleshooting and maintain good relations with customers and vendors
• Network operations: monitor network infrastructure, troubleshoot LAN, WAN, wireless, SD-WAN, VPN and voice issues, and support P1/P2 incidents
• Participate in 24x7 on-call support rotation and support network implementation, refresh, migration and upgrade projects
• Assist with installation, configuration and testing of routers, switches, firewalls and wireless solutions, and execute changes following change management processes
• Work with network service providers and vendors, track incidents and service requests, and support switching, VLAN, DHCP, DNS and IP addressing
• Maintain network documentation, diagrams and inventory records, and share best practices with other Jabil facilities

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems preferred, or at least 3 to 5 years of experience
• 2+ years of experience supporting enterprise networking environments
• Experience troubleshooting network infrastructure in production and taking part in network implementation projects
• Ability to work additional hours as needed and to travel, with some extensive travel possibly required
• Ability to work under pressure with changing priorities and deadlines
