Systems Engineer I - Server Infrastructure

About the role

Jabil is hiring a Systems Engineer I in Guadalajara to coordinate and install IT servers and to design, build, optimize and maintain them. The role covers server uptime, monitoring, documentation and support of physical and virtual server infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Design, optimize and maintain servers so that operational uptime is met or exceeded, and monitor system uptime.
• Document failures and corrective actions, and make recommendations for long-term solutions.
• Ensure servers can be monitored and managed locally and remotely, and deploy systems according to established standards.
• Perform periodic performance reviews and trend analysis, and prepare project plans and schedules.
• Provide status updates, recommend or conduct training, and act as escalation point for troubleshooting.
• Work with Facilities, Networks and Security teams, and support infrastructure projects and capacity, availability and continuity initiatives.
• Identify ways to reduce costs and improve processes, and share best practices with other Jabil facilities.

Required profile

• Experience administering and supporting physical and virtual server infrastructure.
• Knowledge of Windows Server administration and support, basic Linux, and virtualization environments, preferably VMware.
• Understanding of server room and data center operations and standards (temperature, humidity, power and UPS, environmental monitoring).
• Ability to work under pressure with changing priorities and deadlines, and to maintain confidentiality of data and proprietary information.
