Vice President, Account Management

About the role

The Vice President, Account Management will lead a cluster of strategic client relationships across Mexico, driving revenue growth, customer retention and business expansion for Mastercard. This senior position reports on commercial performance and partners with cross‑functional teams to deliver value‑creating account strategies.

Key responsibilities

• Own performance and growth of a portfolio of strategic accounts, developing multi‑year plans aligned with client priorities.
• Drive revenue, profitability and market‑share targets through cross‑sell, upsell and contract negotiations.
• Serve as executive sponsor, leading business reviews and ensuring high client satisfaction and advocacy.
• Lead, coach and develop a high‑performing team of Account Directors and Managers.
• Collaborate with Product, Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, Risk, Finance and Operations to deliver client outcomes.
• Represent Mastercard at industry events and provide market insights to shape broader business strategy.

Required profile

• Bilingual in English and Spanish.
• 8‑10 years of progressive sales and account management experience in financial services or payments.
• Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) and extensive knowledge of the card industry.
• Proven ability to negotiate, influence senior stakeholders and close complex sales.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and business‑acumen skills.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with focus on product profitability and business plan execution.
