Mechanical Engineer II – Plant Support

About the role

We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer II to join our plant support team in Querétaro. In this role you will act as the Mechanical Resident Engineer, driving project delivery, problem‑solving and continuous improvement across the manufacturing line.

Key responsibilities

• Lead assigned mechanical projects, conduct risk assessments and resolve plant‑related mechanical issues.
• Support Value Stream Organization improvement initiatives targeting scrap reduction, downtime minimisation, fall‑out‑rate improvement and line utilisation.
• Provide technical support for plant and supplier issues, evaluate and source mechanical components, and manage tooling replacement.
• Drive cost‑reduction programmes, including component localisation and participation in Ratio Project Planning.
• Assess product deviations from a mechanical perspective and ensure timely quality resolution.
• Develop and maintain design specifications, risk assessments and engineering reports.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, supply‑chain and product development teams to align on engineering standards.
• Monitor equipment performance, recommend preventive maintenance and equipment upgrades.
• Mentor engineering and manufacturing staff to build mechanical engineering capability.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electromechanical or Mechatronics Engineering.
• 1‑2 years of experience in a similar plant‑support or mechanical engineering role.
• Creative, proactive and analytical mindset with strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and think literally.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Office.
• Basic knowledge of Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
• Basic knowledge of Design Review Based on Failure Mode (DRBFM).
• Understanding of GD&T and drawing interpretation.
• Familiarity with tolerance stack analysis.
• Fundamentals of reliability and statistics.
• Problem‑solving techniques.
