Buyer III

About the role

Jabil is looking for a Buyer III in Chihuahua. The role optimizes the overall cost of materials, develops supply base and supply chain strategies, negotiates pricing, terms and agreements for strategic or business-unit-specific materials, and supervises purchasing staff within the workcell.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze and project component purchase prices for the Standard Costing process and provide input on quoted costs to customers.
• Optimize material costs and work with the business unit to obtain customer authorization for additional expenses such as premiums, freight and tooling charges.
• Improve sourcing options by adding Jabil preferred or strategic suppliers to the customer's Approved Manufacturer's List.
• Monitor supplier performance on cost, delivery and quality, and conduct supplier audits, visits, certifications and performance reviews.
• Develop supply chain strategies for customer or business-unit strategic materials and influence customer supply chain approaches.
• Work with Materials Quote Analysts to quote and re-quote materials, negotiating terms and conditions that protect Jabil and its customers.
• Train purchasing staff, ensure they have the right tools and resources, and help with recruiting and hiring.

Required profile

• Ability to present information clearly to managers, clients and customers and to define problems and draw valid conclusions.
• Ability to read and understand simple instructions, memos and visual aids, and to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to handle standardized situations and to apply common sense to simple tasks.

Required skills

• Advanced PC skills, including knowledge of Jabil's software packages.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide, and to compute rates, ratios and percentages and interpret graphs.
