Datacenter Operations Technician

About the role

Amazon Web Services is seeking a Datacenter Operations Technician to join its Infrastructure Operations team. The role ensures the availability and reliability of data‑center services by performing hardware and network diagnostics, repairs, and equipment installations in a 24/7 environment.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair hardware and networking issues in the data‑center.
• Install, rack, and configure new equipment.
• Create and maintain documentation of procedures and configurations.
• Participate in an on‑call rotation and respond to incidents quickly.
• Manage work orders and priorities through a ticketing system.
• Collaborate with team members and operate independently as needed.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years of computer hardware troubleshooting and repair.
• 2+ years of computer networking experience.
• 1+ year of data‑center experience.
• Knowledge of fiber‑optic and copper cabling standards and testing equipment.
• Ability to lift and rack equipment up to 40 lb.
• Strong communication, prioritization, and quick‑reaction skills.
