GBS Accounting Analyst

About the role

The GBS Accounting Analyst will support General Motors' finance function by ensuring accurate, timely, and GAAP‑compliant general ledger processing. This hybrid position blends on‑site collaboration with remote work to drive financial integrity across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Perform general ledger functions, maintaining accuracy and compliance with professional accounting standards.
• Identify, interpret, and analyze accounting risks, issues, and transaction contracts.
• Execute internal controls, SOX compliance, and financial procedures.
• Partner with Finance to assess accounting implications of business transactions and provide analytical insights for decision‑making.
• Assist with internal and external financial reporting, including consolidated results, SEC filings (10‑Q/10‑K), and management review reports.
• Evaluate and improve current accounting practices and policies.
• Research new accounting standards and determine their application to GM.
• Provide guidance to a team with similar functional responsibilities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Administration.
• Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience.
• Advanced proficiency in English.

Required skills

• SAP knowledge.
• Power BI knowledge.
