Senior Underwriting Assistant

About the role

The Senior Underwriting Assistant supports the Underwriting Support Unit by handling complex accounts and providing technical guidance to junior staff. This role works closely with regional underwriters and internal partners to ensure timely and accurate processing of new and renewal business.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with underwriters to evaluate new and renewal submissions, document outstanding items, and communicate with brokers.
• Identify and resolve account alerts and blocks during submission to prevent conflicts.
• Prepare policy writing instructions, manage premium bookings, and track policy issuance to meet line‑of‑business metrics.
• Perform data analytics, review location data and CAT modeling results, and assist with loss rating models.
• Maintain accurate files, attend broker meetings, and consistently meet service level agreements.

Required profile

• 1‑3 years of insurance experience or equivalent education and training.
• Strong ability to prioritize and navigate multiple computer systems.
• Learning agility and proactive client service mindset.
• Attention to detail and problem‑solving skills.
