Trade & Transportation Specialist

About the role

ABB is hiring a Trade & Transportation Specialist in Apodaca, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, for its Electrification Business. The position reports to the Trade & Transportation Leader and is on-site. It covers local import/export operations, supervising customs brokers and ensuring smooth execution of trade and customs activities, including documentation and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Act as point of contact for customs brokers on questions such as product valuation or classification.
• Audit customs brokers on the accuracy of customs entries, invoicing and archiving.
• Manage the documentation and online forms needed for efficient, cost-effective and lawful import/export.
• Maintain and share with colleagues knowledge of import/export laws, procedures, tariffs, duties, licenses and restrictions.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in International Trade, Commerce, Logistics or Industrial Engineering.
• 2+ years of experience in logistics and transportation roles.
• Experience in import/export and with the IMMEX program.
• Experience with customs operations, including regularizations and changes of customs regime.
• Intermediate English.

Required skills

• Knowledge of virtual operations and 3PL operations.
• Intermediate to advanced Excel for logistics data analysis and reporting.
• Experience with SAP is a plus.
