Traffic Logistics Specialist

About the role

The Traffic Logistics Specialist is an individual contributor responsible for analyzing and optimizing supply‑chain processes to ensure goods are delivered efficiently, cost‑effectively, and on time. The role works across Valmont and non‑Valmont locations, collaborating with internal teams and external partners.

Key responsibilities

• Schedule and coordinate transportation from multiple locations.
• Select carriers using a Route guide to support cost‑saving strategies.
• Reorganize shipping schedules, consolidate loads, and maximize vehicle usage to reduce expenses.
• Collaborate with procurement, warehouse staff, and transportation providers.
• Coordinate with customs brokers, carriers, and import/export departments for timely border crossings.
• Maintain accurate operational reports and TMS data for internal customers.
• Monitor KPIs such as on‑time pickups/deliveries, system updates, and operational costs using data analytics.
• Identify improvement areas and recommend process enhancements.
• Plan and execute logistics projects, ensuring timely deliveries.
• Implement continuous‑improvement initiatives and support cost‑reduction programs.
• Resolve logistical challenges, maintain SOPs, and cross‑train across departments.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree.
• 1–6 years of experience in logistics, transportation, or supply‑chain roles.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and customer‑service orientation.
• Experience managing process implementations and logistics projects.
• Proficiency with logistics software and solid understanding of supply‑chain management principles.
• Knowledge of inland transportation regulations in Mexico and the United States.
• Experience with international logistics operations and customs processes.
• Ability to analyze performance metrics, generate reports, and drive improvements.
