Financial Controller – Mexico Operations

About the role

The Controller will lead and oversee all financial control, accounting, treasury, tax compliance, customs, and internal audit functions for the Mexican operation. This senior position ensures the integrity and accuracy of financial information under Mexican Financial Reporting Standards (NIF) and IFRS, while aligning with the policies of the North American corporate headquarters.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with NIF and IFRS.
• Coordinate the monthly accounting close process and report results to the SVP of Finance and Accounting.
• Maintain local accounting policies that align with US GAAP, NIF and IFRS.
• Supervise intercompany reconciliations with the parent company and other subsidiaries.
• Manage daily cash flow, quarterly liquidity forecasts and working‑capital optimization.
• Oversee banking relationships, covenant compliance and bank reconciliations.
• Ensure accurate calculation and filing of federal and local taxes, including ISR, IVA, IEPS and payroll taxes.
• Handle tax authority inquiries, audits and coordinate with external advisors.
• Supervise customs compliance for garment imports, tariff classification and payment of import duties.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading finance functions in a Mexican subsidiary or similar environment.
• Strong knowledge of Mexican NIF, IFRS and US GAAP accounting standards.
• In‑depth understanding of Mexican federal and local tax regulations.
• Experience managing treasury operations, cash‑flow forecasting and banking relationships.
• Familiarity with customs law and import procedures for the textile sector.
