Inventory Control Accountant

About the role

Mill is seeking its first Inventory Control Accountant to build foundational processes for inventory accounting in a fast‑growing food‑waste technology company. You will partner with contract manufacturers, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure accurate inventory records and support financial reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Own accounting and reconciliation of all inventory movements, including receipts, production consumption, transfers, returns, scrap, adjustments, and cycle‑count variances.
• Perform detailed operational accounting, month‑end close, and reporting of inventory balances by part/SKU.
• Investigate discrepancies with contract manufacturers and suppliers, validating transactions against ERP records.
• Support landed‑cost accounting and monthly unit‑economics analysis, including P&L impact.
• Collaborate with the Controller and Operations teams to improve internal processes and create internal controls around manufacturing, fulfillment, and deployment.
• Assist with financial‑statement audits and forecasting of unit‑economics changes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, or a related field.
• 4+ years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment, with a focus on inventory control and month‑end close.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to work cross‑functionally.

Required skills

• Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, advanced formulas).
